About Virginia Taekwondo
The Virginia State Taekwondo Association (VSTA) is dedicated to furthering the martial arts discipline of taekwondo, and to provide students the highest quality martial arts instruction available in a safe and positive learning environment that people of all ages can enjoy. Taekwondo schools, athletes, coaches and parents should use our association as a resource regarding martial arts tournaments, clinics, seminars, camps and important information in the state of Virginia.
Established in 1989, Grand Master Chan Hak Park was elected as the first President of VSTA and organized and had first VSTA Championship in Norfolk, Virginia. The first tournament featured 60 competitors and doubled in participation the following year. 2001 Grand Master Kwangsoo Han as a president, the event has grown to become the preeminent Taekwondo event in the state with over 850 competitors.
In 2010, Master Han Kyu Kim was voted the18th president of VSTA for the 2011-12 term and is excited to make this year's event the best!
